Athena Recon Scholarship Program

The NRO Athena Recon Scholarship Program offers four undergraduate rising seniors full-time employment in a Federal Government position. Participants will complete a two-year Professional Development Plan developed by the NRO. At the end of the second year, the NRO will provide full-time academic sponsorship for participants to obtain a master's degree in a field related to their area of responsibility. Upon completion of the master's degree, a six-year service obligation will be required.

Program Requirements

• Currently enrolled as undergraduate students and majoring in a field of study needed by the NRO
• United States Citizen
• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on 4.0 scale
• Willing to relocate to the Washington Metropolitan Area
• Meet the same employment standards as permanent employees, successfully completing both security and drug screening
• Provide copies of current transcripts
• Letters of Recommendation (three)
